 Rules for Polls
« Thread Started on Mar 20, 2007, 11:14pm »

Every democracy needs some ground rules for deciding what "passes" and what "fails". These are the ones we have.

*Any member may start a poll on any issue. This means anything from a new board to a new rule. On occasion the staff will also post polls.

*For all polls, carefully consider the repercussions of your vote. Maybe you should post what you think below the poll to get others to think like you. Just keep it civil.

*The Admin has the right to veto votes, but this right will only be exercised if the vote would change something fundamental to the site (eg. If the "Lightsabers ~ The New USMC Weapon" bill passes, it'll get vetoed)

*Polls will be open for one week, so check the polls often.

*Voting percentages for a "bill" to pass:

Pro vs. Con Polls

A Pro vs. Con poll is one where there are two options, you either change something or you don't.

This kind of vote requires that at least 51% of the vote is "Pro" for it to pass.

Option Polls

Option Polls are such that you have an option A, B, and C. There must always be the option for no change.

For a vote like this, it is simply majority rules. (eg. if A gets 10%, B gets 5% and C gets 7%, then A wins)
